Hardboard

A hard fiber board ( HB;. Engl of hardboard ) (also called " hardboard " or " Kabak - plate ") is a fiber board with a density about 800 kg / m³ and a thickness of up to 8 mm. Made is the plate from lignocellulosic fibers such as wood, straw or bagasse, in contrast to the high-density fiberboard (HDF ) is a wet process is used for production. It is used for formwork, interior, doors, furniture, packaging. Because of their material, the plates can be bent for processing.

They are prepared usually from wet fibers with more than 20 % fiber moisture. The plate forming takes place under high pressure at very high temperatures. Wet-pressed plates have a wire mark on the back caused by the sieve, through which the water was pressed out. The cohesion is mainly due to entanglement of the fibers to each other and by small additions of binders. Other additives can improve the material properties and make the plates as insensitive fungi, fire or water.
