Hareidlandet

Hareidlandet is an island in westnorwegischem Fylke More og Romsdal.

The island belongs to the municipalities Hareid and Ulstein. With an area of 166 km ² Hareidlandet is the largest island of the Sunnmøre region. The highest point is Mount Blåtinden 697 moh. in Ulstein and 668 moh. high Melshornet in Hareid. Largest lake of the island is the Snipsøyrvatnet. The largest towns are next to Ulsteinvik and Hareid, Brandal, Hjørungavåg, Eiksund and Flø.

Traffic

Hareidlandet has a bridge connection over the Dragsundbrua with the neighboring islands Gurskøya. From Ålesund, the island is by ferry domestic Sulasund - to achieve Hareid. There is also a speedboat connection Hareid on the island Valderøya to the airport from Ålesund on the island Vigra Ålesund. Since the opening of Eiksundtunnels ( Eiksundsamband ) is Hareidlandet also be reached from the mainland without a ferry.

Economy
