Harnam Folk Dance Ensemble

The folk dance group " Harnam " (Polish: Zespół Tanca Ludowego " Harnam ") is the oldest Polish folk dance ensembles. Harnam was established in 1947. Their founder was Jadwiga Hryniewiecka. The seat is located in the grounds of the " White Factory Complex" in Piotrkowska Street 282a in Łódź.

History

The group was formed in patr Textile Industrial Factory No. 8. Szymon Harnam in Łódź. Jadwiga Hryniewiecka was artistic director and choreographer until 1978, then was artistic director of her students: Sławomir Mazurkiewicz ( 1979-1990 ) and Maria Kryńska ( 1990-2008 ). Maria Kryńska and Krzysztof Sitkowski founded in 1994 Studio therapy for children and adolescents with Down's syndrome, which functioned until 2008.
