Harney Peak

The Harney Peak is with its 2208 meters the highest point of the U.S. state of South Dakota and the Black Hills. It is located in Pennington County, is the highest mountain in the United States east of the Rocky Mountains. Is named the mountain after General William S. Harney. On the summit of Harney Peaks stands a stone observation tower, which was used as Feuerausguck. Next to it is a small dam. The collection is located in the Black Hills National Forest.
