Harold Brown (Secretary of Defense)

Harold Brown ( born September 19, 1927 in New York City ) is an American nuclear physicist, and politician ( Democratic Party).

Brown was on 21 January 1977 to 20 January 1981, President Jimmy Carter, U.S. Defense. Previously, he had already exercised the positions of the United States Deputy Secretary of Defense ( Deputy Minister of Defence ) and the United States Secretary of the Air Force ( Secretary of the Air Force) under Presidents Lyndon B. Johnson and Richard Nixon.

In 1960 and 1961 he was director of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and from 1969 to 1977, he served as director of the California Institute of Technology.
