Harold Fleming (footballer)
Harold Fleming ( born April 30 1887 in Downton, Wiltshire, † August 23, 1955 ) was an English professional footballer and international, who played for the St. Marks clubs and Swindon Town.

Fleming played in the position of a central striker and started his footballing career at St. Marks. Later, he was invited by the manager of the club Swindon Town for a test game. Fleming scored two goals in the 4-0 victory against Swindon Town FC Salisbury City.
Because of this good performance, he quickly received a professional contract with Swindon Town and played 1907-1924 for the club. During his 332 appearances for Swindon Town he scored 203 goals.
His career as a footballer was interrupted by the First World War. During the time of the war he worked as a sports teacher.
English national football team
Between 1909 and 1914 he played a total of 11 times for the England national team where he scored 9 goals.
Special
Because of its legendary reputation in the Swindon fans was a road, " Fleming Way ," named after him and erected a statue in the foyer of the club. He also donated his name for a variety soccer shoes.
