Harper County (Kansas)

Harper County is a county located in the state of Kansas in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Anthony. The county is one of the Dry counties, which means that the sale of alcohol is restricted or prohibited.

Geography

The County is located in southern Kansas, Oklahoma and is adjacent to an area of ​​2080 square kilometers, of which four square kilometers of water surface. It borders in Kansas clockwise to the following counties: Kingman County, Sumner County and Barber County.

History

Harper County was formed on 26 February 1867. It was named after Marion Harper, an officer in the American Civil War.
