Harpersfield Township is one of 27 townships of Ashtabula County in the U.S. state of Ohio. According to the census in 2000 2603 inhabitants were registered here.

Geography

The Harpersfield Township is located in the northwest of Ashtabula County in the extreme northeastern Ohio. It is located in the north about 8 km from Lake Erie, and borders clockwise to the townships: Geneva Township, Saybrook Township, Austinburg Township, Morgan Township, Trumbull Township, Thompson Township, Geauga County, and Madison Township in Lake County.

Management

The township is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of three elected members. Two persons are elected in the year after the presidential election and one each in the previous year. The term of office lasts four years, beginning on 1 January. There is also a Township Clerk (Secretary), who is also elected in the year before the presidential election to a four -year term. Whose term of office begins on April 1.

Attractions

Worth seeing is the 69.5 m long Harpersfield Covered Bridge, which was built in 1868 and spans the Grand River. 1991-92, the bridge was renovated.
