Harriet Andersson

Harriet Andersson ( born February 14, 1932 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish actress and best known for her roles in the films Ingmar Bergman.

Life and work

Harriet Andersson visited at a young age Calle Flygare Theater School and performed at the Oscar Theatre. After the first small cinema and advertising film appearances she received in 1952 Vilgot Sjömans Trots her first major role. Due to their screen presence offered her Ingmar Bergman starred in Summer with Monika (1953 ), which meant her breakthrough as an actress. In the same year she joined Bergman's theater company at the City Theatre in Malmö and was for a time also privately in a relationship with the director. Her most famous role in that time they played in Bergman's Smiles of a Summer Night ( 1955). In 1956 she returned to Stockholm back to the theater and played the role of Anne Frank among others. In later years, she appeared in Bergman's Through a Glass Darkly (1961 ), Cries and Whispers (1972) and Fanny and Alexander (1982 ) and May Zetterlings Loving Couples ( 1964) and The Girl (1968 ) with. From 1968 to 1992 she was a member of the ensemble of the Royal Dramatic Theatre. In 2003, she turned Dogville, directed by Lars von Trier. In 2005 she published her written in the form of interviews autobiography titled Harriet Andersson.
