Harriet Hunt
Harriet V. Hunt ( born February 4, 1978 in Oxford) is an English chess champion.
She is four-time British champion (1995, 1996, 1997 and 1999), bears the title of Grandmaster Women ( WGM ) and International Champion of Men (IM).
Chess career
In 1989 she won in Plymouth, the British U11 championship of female youth. 1989 and 1990 ( in Eastbourne ) she won the British U12 Girls Championship. In 1990 she won the British U10 championship of the boys, this was before anyone yet succeeded girls. She won this year the U13 championship of the girls who could win in Eastbourne in 1991 again. In 1991 it was divided first in the U14 Championship for Men ( at the same time she won the U14 girls championship ). At the World Youth Championship of female youth U14 1992 in Duisburg, she was behind Elina Danieljan and Corina - Isabela Peptan third parties. In 1994 she made her debut 16 -year-old in the English national team at the 31st Chess Olympiad in Moscow. In the Under-18 World Cup (female) in 1996 in Cala Galdana she was behind Marta Zielińska second. In 1997 she won the U20 World Championship for Junior Women in Żagań, Poland. In 1999 she was awarded a gold medal for their results of 7 of 9 in the European Team Championship in Batumi, Georgia. The title of International Champion of FIDE (IM) she received in 2000. During the European Team Championship 2001 has in León, Spain, the English Women's National Team to the bronze medal. In the 36th Chess Olympiad in Calvia in Mallorca in 2004, it achieved a result of 9.5 out of 13
In the English University Championships, she plays for the team Jesus College Chess Society in the English top league students. Your team was tied for first in the season 2005/06. Harriet Hunt reached 100 % of the points in this season. In the British Four Nations Chess League ( 4NCL ) Hunt played in the 1993/94 season at the Invicta Knights Maidstone, from the 1994/95 season to the 1999/2000 season at the Midland Monarchs or Bigwood ( the club was renamed in 1998 ), in the 2000 /01 season at Thistle White Rose, from the 2001/02 season to the 2004/05 season at Wood Green, from the 2006/07 season she played up to the 2007/ 08 season for Betsson.com, then in the seasons 2008/ 09 and 2009/10 for Pride and Prejudice. Since the 2011/12 season she played for Blackthorne Russia. Harriet Hunt won the 4NCL 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, 2003 and 2005. In Germany she played in the Women's League of the 1999/2000 season to the 2003/04 season for the SK Tower Emsdetten and won with this 2001, the German team championship of women.
With black pieces she responds best to the Sicilian Defense.

Her brother Adam C. Hunt ( b. 1980 ) is a game of chess very successful. He is an International Master with a highest ever Elo rating of 2466, which he had in January 2008.

She holds a doctorate scientist working as a research fellow for Archäogenetik at the University of Cambridge. It deals in their research contract with the cultivation history of a type proso millet ( Panicum miliaceum ). Another research focus was Asplenium majoricum, a Spleenwort.
