Harrington jacket

In December 1937 John Miller, owner of the textile factory " Baracuta " in Manchester, England created a robust, water-and wind -resistant jacket with stand-up collar and a lining with Fraser tartan pattern. He called this jacket simply " G9 ". The name originated Harringtonjacke until the mid- sixties, when the character played by Ryan O'Neal character ' Rodney Harrington ' the G9 was regularly in the popular soap opera " Peyton Place." The coinage of the term is probably attributed by the first public mention ibid., actor John Simons.

Was popular and is the G9 especially in rockabilly, mods, skinheads, punks, hooligans and other subcultures.

Today, the G9 jacket is one of the most imitated clothing in the world. The original Baracuta G9 is now produced in about a dozen different colors and costs about 300 euros.
