Harris Lake (New Hill, North Carolina)

The Harris Lake ( officially Shearon Harris Reservoir ) is a lake in New Hill in the U.S. state of North Carolina. It is fed from the Buckhorn Creek. Its area is 16.6 km ² and is located in Wake and Chatham County and is mainly used by the Shearon Harris nuclear power plant. The lake is located adjacent to the Jordan Lake, but is not connected to it. According to anglers who fish the lake are said to possess greater extent due caused by the warmer water temperature by cooling the nuclear reactor.

At the lake there are two landing ramps for boats.
