Harry Anselm Clinch

Harry Anselm Clinch ( born October 27, 1908 in San Rafael, California, † March 8, 2003 ) was Bishop of Monterey in California.

Life

Harry Anselm Clinch received on 6 June 1936, the sacrament of Holy Orders for the Diocese of Monterey - Fresno.

Pope Pius XII. appointed him on 5 December 1956 to the Auxiliary Bishop of Monterey - Fresno and Titular Bishop of Badiae. The Bishop of Monterey - Fresno, Aloysius Joseph Willinger, gave him on 27 February of the following year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Auxiliary Bishops Timothy Manning of Los Angeles and Merlin Joseph Guilfoyle from San Francisco.

Clinch participated in the second to the fourth session of the Second Vatican Council as part of a Council Father.

After the spin-off of the Diocese of Fresno appointed by Pope Paul VI. on October 16, 1967 Bishop of Monterey in California. Pope John Paul II took on January 19, 1982 to his resignation.
