Harry Bell Measures

Harry Bell Measures (* 1862, † 1940) was a British architect.

From 1884 to 1892 worked Measures for William Willett and drafted on his behalf a number of high quality residential homes for the wealthy in London and the South East of England. They were built mostly in the Queen Anne style and consisted of red bricks, which corresponded to the then taste. After that, he worked for the philanthropist Lord Rowton and designed hostels for workers in London and Birmingham. His most famous buildings are several station buildings of the Central London Railway, a line of the London Underground ( today's Central Line). Measures was also responsible for the Ministry of Defence Director barracks and as such new buildings as the Redford Barracks in Edinburgh.
