Harry Gallatin

Harry Gallatin ( born April 26, 1927 in Roxana, Illinois ) is a retired American professional basketball player and coach.

Playing career

After his time at Truman State University, Harry Gallatin reported to the BAA Draft 1948. The New York Knicks selected him in 40th place. He could quickly prevail in the BAA and after the merger in 1949 in the NBA. In 1951 he was invited thanks to average 12.8 points and 12.1 rebounds for the first All-Star Game. This was repeated in the next six years. In the season 1953/54, he was with a total of 1,098 rebounds and 15.2 per game the best player in both categories.
