Harry Joe Brown
Harry Joe Brown ( born September 22, 1890 in Pittsburgh, United States, † April 28, 1972 in Palm Springs, California, United States ) was an American film producer and director. It was in 1960 honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Life
Harry Joe Brown studied at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and at Syracuse University in New York. He was married from 1933 to 1943 to actress Sally Eilers and had a son. In another marriage, he was married to actress Dorothy Gray.
Work
Brown founded in 1925 his production company, Harry Joe Brown Productions. He produced 143 films and series episodes and resulted in 48 films directed. Brown was temporarily working for Universal Studios and Paramount Pictures. From 1943 to 1968 he worked for Columbia Pictures.
