Harry Johnston (politician)

Harry A. Johnston ( born December 2, 1931 in West Palm Beach, Florida ) is a former American politician. Between 1989 and 1997 he represented the state of Florida in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Harry Johnston attended the Virginia Military Institute until 1953 and then served from 1953 to 1955 as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army. After a subsequent law studies at the University of Florida and its made ​​in 1958 admitted to the bar he began in West Palm Beach to work in his new profession. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career. Between 1974 and 1986, Johnston was in the Senate from Florida, he served as Chairman since 1984.
