Harry Lane

Harry Lane ( born August 28, 1855 in Corvallis, Oregon, † May 23 1917 in San Francisco, California ) was an American politician.

Lane studied medicine at Willamette University in Salem. After that, he was a doctoral student at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New York City in New York City. Lane has now worked as a doctor in San Francisco. Later he returned to Oregon and settled in Portland, where he began to practice again. 1887 to 1891 he was head of the Oregon State Insane Asylum, and from 1905 to 1909 held Lane, succeeding George H. Williams, the mayor of Portland.

He was in 1912 elected as a Democrat in the Senate of the United States and represented there, the state of Oregon on 4 March 1913 to his death in 1917. Lane was buried in Lone Fir Cemetery in Portland.

Harry Lane was the grandson of Joseph Lane.
