Harry Porter

Harry Porter ( Harry Franklin Porter, born August 31, 1882 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, † June 27, 1965 in Hartford, Connecticut) was an American high jumper and Olympic champion.

He started for the Cornell University and in 1905 was second in the College Championships. After graduating, he joined the Irish-American AC. In 1908 he was U.S. champion and qualified for the Olympic Games in London. There, he won the competition in the high jump with 1.90m and two centimeters ahead. 1909 Porter was 1.93 m annual world Bester, 1911, he was again U.S. champion.

Harry Porter was 1.89 m tall and weighed 79 kg in his playing days.
