Harry Schein

Harry Leo slip ( born October 13, 1924 in Vienna, † 11 February 2006 in Danderyd, Sweden) was a Swedish author and reformer of the Swedish film industry.

Note emigrated at the age of 11 years from Austria to Sweden. Lived in the first year and worked in Smaland, then moved to the Stockholm County, where he trained as a chemical engineer. In 1950 he participated in the Swedish citizenship.

Beginning in 1948, wrote copy for the " Bonnier Litterära Magasin " and reviewed it, not always positive, even the films Ingmar Bergman. Bergman " retaliated " himself by The Face (1958 ) modeled the figure of arrogant Medizinalrates Vergerus in his film after receipt.

In the 1960s, bill brought forward the establishment of the Swedish Film Institute and denied in this ( with a break of two years ) from 1963 to 1978 leading positions. He was also one of the initiators of the film reform of 1963, the freed the Swedish film industry of the entertainment tax and instead committed to a delivery that served to promote local film productions. His decision, ostensibly to promote Bergman's Cries and Whispers (1972 ) to the detriment of less well known directors, with a not inconsiderable sum, took him to the criticism.

1964 bill called the Swedish Film Award Guldbagge to life. From 1983 to 1987 he was head of the " Investeringsbanken ".

Bill was close to the Swedish Social Democrats and was a friend of Prime Minister Olof Palme. From 1956 to 1989 appearance with the actress Ingrid Thulin was married.
