Harry Stenqvist

Erik Harry Stenqvist ( born December 25, 1893 in Chicago, USA, † December 9, 1968 in Örebro, Sweden) was a Swedish racing driver.

Stenqvist in 1912 and 1913 as well as 1915 Swedish team champion 1915 addition individual champion in the time trial. In 1920 he was again Swedish champions in this discipline. Stenqvist took in 1920 at the Summer Olympics in 1920 partly in Antwerp. Stenqvist won the 175- kilometer individual time trial, which was held by the city in the middle, in a time of 4 hrs 40 min 1 sec ahead of South African Henry Kaltenbrunn. In the team competition Stenqvist won the silver medal together with Sigfrid Lundberg, Ragnar Malm and Axel Persson. The race took place under adventurous conditions rather than as the track repeatedly crossed railroad tracks and racers have been hampered by the running of trains, Stenqvist won his gold medal in spite of such a forced break of four minutes.
