Harry Tañamor

Harry Tañamor (born 20 August 1977) is a Filipino boxer. He is several times medalist in international competitions in the Flyweight ( up to 48 kg).

Career

The southpaw Tañamor won the bronze medal each in the box world championships in 2001 and 2003.

He took part for his country at the 2004 Olympic Games. Here he fought his way to the second round, but lost to the Koreans Hong Moo -Won.

In the box world championships in 2007 in Chicago, he won in the quarterfinals against the local hero Luis Yanez and in the semifinal against the Thais Amnat Ruanroeng. In the final he was beaten to the multiple world champion and Olympic bronze medalists from 2004 Zhou Shiming. Through the quarter-finals of the World Championships, he secured a place at the Olympic Games 2008.
