Harry Wu

Harry Wu (Chinese Wú Hongda ,吴弘达, born 1937 in Shanghai) is a born American citizen in China and Chinese dissident, describing especially the Chinese labor camps ( Laogai ).

1960 Geology student Wu was arrested as a " counterrevolutionary rightist " and held without charge 19 years in labor camps. In 1985, he was able to travel to the U.S. and was a guest lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley. As executive director of the " Laogai Research Foundation " in Washington, DC He informed about the labor camp and the products manufactured there.
