Hart-Purgstall until the end of 2014 a municipality with 1604 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) northeast of Graz in Styria, in the district of Graz-Umgebung. As part of the municipality of structural reform in Styria it is merged in 2015 with the communities Brodingberg, Egger bei Graz and politeness Präbach, the new community will continue the name Egger village near Graz. This is based on the Styrian community structure reform law - StGsrG.

The community is easily confused due to the similarity of their names with only 10 km away municipality Hart bei Graz.

Geography

Geographical Location

Hart-Purgstall is located about 15 km northeast of the provincial capital of Graz in the hills of Eastern Styria. Through the municipal area flows the Rabnitzbach, a tributary of the Raab.

The municipality comprises the two villages (in brackets population as of 31 October 2011):

  • Hart bei Eggersdorf ( 596)
  • Purgstall Egger village ( 1025)

The municipality comprises the cadastral hard at Egger village and Purgstall.

Neighboring communities

History

The local church as an autonomous body created in 1850. After the annexation of Austria in 1938, the community came to Reichsgau Styria, 1945 to 1955 she was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria.

2003, the community has its original name Purgstall stored at Egger village to demonstrate their independence and to avoid the impression that she was a district of Egger village near Graz. In a plebiscite she spoke from the population for the new name Hart-Purgstall. This can easily be confused with Hart bei Graz the community, however.

Coat of arms

The award of the municipality coat of arms came into effect on 1 July 1992. Coat Description: In the battlements section of Kürsch and Red shared with a silver bottom forward curved thorn vine with a silver rose on a red field.

Culture and sights

  • Castle Dornhofen is a Renaissance castle located to the left of the Rabnitzbaches on a hillside stage. It was built in the 17th century.

Economy and infrastructure

Traffic

The municipality is not located on one of the main roads, but these are easy to reach. The south motorway (A2 ) is about 10 km away and the railway junction Village West ( 161) accessible. The Weiz Straße (B 72) is about 3 km away, the railway Straße (B 65 ) is about 5 km.

Hart-Purgstall has no railway station. The nearest railway station is located in the village of track about 12 km away and offers access to the Styrian Eastern Railway and to the state railway track village Weiz. Graz Main Train Station is 16 km away. Hart-Purgstall has a stop on the bus route of the transport association between Graz and Egger village near Graz.

Graz Airport is about 25 km away.

Tourism

In Greithgraben there is a small owner-run ski area. The 1972 built by the farmer Josef Wimmer on a slope of 400 meters long and 80 meters wide Wimmerlift is now a family business with two drag lifts, floodlights and five snow cannons. Despite the low altitude of 450-500 m, it is possible through the use of snow cannons at least a weekly basis to ensure the lifts in operation between Christmas and the summer holidays.
