Hartberg District

The political district of Hartberg was an administrative district of the Austrian province of Styria. It bordered on the west and northwest by the district of Weiz, and on the south by the former district Fürstenfeld forms the north and east the Styrian border against the districts of Upper Wart and Güssing (in the east ) and Neunkirchen, as well as the district of Wiener Neustadt-Land (in the north ).

History

Following the reorganization of the Styrian district headquarters of the district was merged on 1 January 2013 with the district Fürstenfeld to Hartberg - Fürstenfeld. Until 31 December 2012, the district of Hartberg comprised about 66,600 inhabitants in an area of ​​about 960 km ². The official license plate was HB.

Administrative divisions

The district Hartberg was divided into 50 communities, including two cities and seven market towns. The population figures are from 1 January 2013.

Community structure reform

The Styrian Provincial Government in 2011 committed to help reduce considerably in the course of administrative reform, the number of districts and municipalities. Trigger these efforts are the high indebtedness of the state and therefore the existing need for the public sector to bring substantial savings to pass.

On 20 November 2011, the voters of the municipalities Dienersdorf, Ebersdorf, Großhart, Hartl, Hofkirchen voted in Hartberg, Kaindorf and Tiefenbach bei Kaindorf as to whether, these seven churches is to be merged into one local authority area. With a turnout of 65.66 % total of 3351 valid votes were counted. Of these, 436 voters ( 13.01% ) were in favor of a merger of the municipalities, while 2915 voters ( 86.99 % ) voted against a merger.

On 1 January 2013 the municipalities book Geiseldorf and Santa Magdalena at Lviv to the community book -St were. Magdalena merged.
