Hartford Wolf Pack

The Hartford Wolf Pack are an ice hockey team in the American Hockey League. They play in the XL Center ( 15,635 seats) in Hartford, Connecticut. Their club colors are blue, red and white.

They are the farm team of the New York Rangers (NHL), the farm team of the Connecticut Whale in turn are the Greenville Road Warriors in the ECHL.

History

The club was founded in 1997 after the resident NHL team Hartford Whalers moved to Raleigh and became the Carolina Hurricanes. Previously, the team was known under the name of Binghamton Rangers (1990 to 1997), Binghamton Whalers and Providence Reds. The first game of the team took place on 4 October 1997.

A special rivalry Lowell Lock Monsters, as well as to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. His biggest success of the club in 2000, when they prevailed in the play-offs and the Calder Cup won.

On November 27, 2010, the team was renamed Connecticut Whale. To this end, the new marketing director had decided who had previously been the owner of the Hartford Whalers. From the 2013/14 season, the franchise plays again under the name of former Hartford Wolf Pack.
