The nuclear power plant Hartlepool is located near the city of Hartlepool in North East England. It consists of two AGR, each with a net output of 595 MW. The nuclear power station operated by British Energy. The two reactors producing more than 3% of the electricity in the UK.

The construction was started in 1968. The first reactor Hartlepool -A1 was first critically on 1 August 1983. The second reactor was put into operation on 31 October 1984.
