Hartmut Stegemann

Hartmut Stegemann ( December 18 1933, Gummersbach, † August 22, 2005 in Marburg ) was a German theologian, representatives of the New Testament and especially Qumran science researchers.

Stegemann 1963 in Heidelberg, Dr. phil. ( Semitic Studies and Religious Studies ) received his doctorate in 1965 in Bonn, Dr. theol. In 1969 he qualified as a professor in Bonn for the subject of the New Testament.

In 1971 he was appointed professor at the Philipps University in Marburg, 1980 as the successor of Hans Conzelmann at the Georg- August University in Göttingen, where he taught his retirement, until the end of the summer term 2005.

Stegemann had worked in Heidelberg, headed by Karl Georg Kuhn Qumran Research Centre, which he claimed Marburg, 1980, led in 1971 to Göttingen, where he headed until his retirement. He was one of the world's leading researchers Qumran, belonged to the circle of editors who at any time have access to the information kept in Jerusalem originals, and developed inter alia, an eponymous method for reconstructing scrolls.

Stegemann was married to the Islamic scholar Ursula winder - Stegemann.
