Hartmut Winkler

Hartmut Winkler ( born November 18, 1953 in Marburg ) is a German media scholar. He has been a professor of media theory and media culture at the University of Paderborn since 1999.

Life

Hartmut Winkler began in 1972 an architectural studies at the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt, which he finished in 1975 with the diploma. After the community service and an activity as an application consultant for urban planning in the municipal area data center Darmstadt Winkler pursued from 1980 to 1987 a second degree with the contents of German literature, philosophy and theater, film and television studies at the Goethe University in Frankfurt. In parallel, he worked at the Institute for Housing and Environment in Darmstadt. He graduated from the academic degree Master to work below first as a research assistant at the University of comprehensive high school victories, and from 1991 to 1997 at the Goethe University.

1992 doctorate Winkler, the title of his dissertation is the cinematic space and the viewer. In 1997 his habilitation with the topic Docuverse. For the media theory of the computer.

After a time professor in Film and Television Studies at the Ruhr- University Bochum Winkler in 1999 moved to the University of Paderborn, where he co-founded the Bachelor-/Master-Studiengänge media studies.
