Harvard Business Review

Harvard Business Review ( HBR ) is an influential English-language management magazine. It is ten years old published by the Harvard Business Publishing, which is fully owned by Harvard University. The company is based in Watertown, Massachusetts. Its content focuses on management techniques and innovations. Addressee of the magazine business leaders. Many management theorists published in HBR, inter alia, Peter F. Drucker, Michael E. Porter, Rosabeth Moss Kanter, Gary Hamel, CK Prahalad and Robert S. Kaplan. Criteria in the everyday management such as Balanced Scorecard, Core Competence, reengineering and Glass Ceiling were first discussed in HBR. The magazine sells licensed editions in Asia and Europe, including the German edition: Harvard Business Manager ( heme ).

History

The Harvard Business Review is published by the Publishing Harvard Business Publishing since 1922. This publisher is owned by the Harvard Business School ( HBR ).

The research-based magazine aimed at business practitioners and refers to a high-level audience from the business world: It is read by academics, managers and consultants. With the publication of ten foreign language editions worldwide circulation of 240,000 copies. Editorial magazine is independent of the Harvard Business School. There is no peer review for the feature items.

In 2002, there were some personnel changes in management and the editorial staff after the revelation of an affair between the chief editor Suzy Wetlaufer and the former CEO of General Electric Jack Welch. Two senior editors complained that the affair, which began while Wetlaufers and Welch's work on an article that would have violated ethical standards. Furthermore, it led to an unfair working environment and left the company. Shortly after these dismissals Wetlaufer occurred on March 8 amid further rebukes by the rest of the workforce back. Three months later, Penelope Muse Abernathy also editor was forced to exit.
