Harvard Crimson

The Harvard Crimson ( German: crimson ) are the athletic teams of Harvard University. They play in the Division I of the NCAA. 2006 these were 41 teams for men and women, more than any other NCAA Division I college. Like the other universities of the Ivy League also, Harvard does not offer athletic scholarships. It is among the players therefore to amateurs.

The Harvard Crimson won the national championships in American football ( 12 times ), Golf ( six times ), football (four times ), ice hockey and Frauenlacrosse (once each ).

Rivalry

A traditional rivalry among the teams of Yale University, the Yale Bulldogs. Especially the encounter of football teams has a long tradition.
