Harvard is a town in Worcester County, Massachusetts, which was founded in 1658. It is located west of Interstate 495 on Route 111

The town consists of the districts Oak Hill, Bare Hill, Still River and Old Mill In the census in 2010, Harvard had 6520 inhabitants. The area of Harvard consists largely of forest area with the Bare Hill Pond and agricultural land.

Harvard is a residential city is very popular, many residents work in Boston or Worcester. At Harvard, the first Shaker settlement was founded in 1791 in Massachusetts. It was the second Shaker community in the U.S.. Since the membership figures after peaking in 1850 fell still further, it was dissolved in 1917 and the building sold.

In 1843 there was a settlement of Amos Bronson Alcott project, who belonged to the movement of transcendentalism. It took only half a year until January 1844.
