Harvest Records

Harvest Records is a record label that was founded in 1969 by EMI.

History

The label was created by EMI for progressive rock music and was renowned artists such as Barclay James Harvest, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, The Move and Electric Light Orchestra under contract. During the 1970s the focus moved more to post-punk bands.

The label name has since been only occasionally used for best-of collections Harvest Original Artist ( for example, Syd Barrett ), or when EMI new releases fit on Harvest image. Since the 1990s, as well as acid- techno or electronica works by artists such as Air Liquide appeared ( " Stroboplastics ", 1995), The Bionaut ( " Lush Life Electronica ", 1995), Kron ( " Gold And Love", 1998), computer jockeys ( "Computer jockeys " 1999) and The Future Sound of London presents The Amorphous Androgynous ( " Alice In Ultra country ", 2005).
