Harvey S. Rosen

Harvey S. Rosen (born 29 March 1949 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American economist and university professor, who was also Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers.

Life

After schooling roses first studied at the University of Michigan and completed this study in 1970. During his studies he became in 1969 a member of the Phi Beta Kappa academic community. A subsequent post-graduate studies in economics at Harvard University, he finished in 1972 with a Master of Arts (MA Economics), before in 1974 a Philosophiae Doctor ( Ph.D. Economics) acquired.

He then took over in 1974 a professor of economics at Princeton University and has held this teaching from since. In addition, he is since 1978 also a research scientist at the National Bureau of Economic Research ( NBER ).

He also took several operations in economic institutions, and organizations such as a guest scholar at the Hoover Institution in 1981 and a Fellow of the Econometric Society in 1986.

He was Deputy Under Secretary in the Ministry of Finance ( Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Treasury ) in 1989 and was responsible for the control analysis of the administration of U.S. President George HW Bush until 1991.

Then he took his teaching at Princeton University on again and was next in 1994 adviser to the Federal Reserve System and the 1996 financial services institution Merrill Lynch. After further additional activities as a guest scholar at the Russell Sage Foundation from 1996 to 1997 and in 2001 as a consultant to the Small Business Administration ( SBA), a company founded in 1953 government agency for the promotion of small enterprises, 2003 he was Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers and was in this function until 2005 one of the main economic adviser to President George W. Bush.

Following this, he is a member of the scholar's body ( Board of Scholars ) of the American Council for Capital Formation since 2005. Rosen was also temporarily for the National Tax Association and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the largest philanthropic foundation in the United States, relating solely to the health and care devoted to.
