Hasan Mahboob

Ali Hasan Mahboob (birth name Silas Kirui, born 31 December 1981) is a Bahraini long-distance runner of Kenyan origin.

In 2004 he was second at the Lille Half-Marathon, and in 2005 he won the Prague Half Marathon.

With a new name and nationality, he won the following year at the Asian Games in Doha gold in the 10,000 m. It was his first race on a competition track at all.

At the Track Asia Cup 2007, he won over the same distance bronze, and at the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 he came on the 18th Place.

In 2009, he defended his title at the Asian Championships in the 10,000 m and won silver in the 5000m. At the start of the following season, he was sixth at the World Cross Country Championships in Bydgoszcz.
