History

Haselbach belonged to Rentamt Straubing and the district court Mitterfels of the Electorate of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community. On 1 January 1971 Dachberg was incorporated.

Memorial

In the old cemetery at the parish church recalls since 1958, a memorial to the 28 buried there in 1945 concentration camp prisoners in the Death March from the Flossenbiirg that were driven by SS men at the place over and died of exhaustion or were killed. In 1958 they were transferred to the cemetery of honor Flossenbiirg.

Church and Totentanz chapel

The parish church of St. James is a late Baroque complex, which was built in the years 1713-1718. The tower is medieval, the high altar dates from the year 1720. Culturally valuable the Chapel of the Holy Cross cemetery next to the church, a Oktogonzentralbau with dome and portico. The inside brightly painted chapel contains significant Totentanz representations along the lines of Hans Holbein the Younger.
