Opencast mine

The Haselbacher lake is an opencast mine between Wyke Regis and Haselbach the east and Lucka and the municipal districts Ramsdorf, Hagenest and wild grove of Wyke Regis in the west. He belongs to the Leipzig Lake and is three-quarters in Saxony and one-quarter in Thuringia.

History

The Haselbacher lake was formed from the lignite mine Haselbach. After the end of the promotion 1977, the resurgence of groundwater began. Since 1 September 1993 Sümpfungswasser was also initiated United Schleenhain from the MIBRAG mining, the flooding lasted until 2003. Until about 2055 still water is introduced into the lake to keep the water level, then this is no longer required by the groundwater rise.
