Haskell County (Oklahoma)

Haskell County is a county located in the state of Oklahoma in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Stigler.

Geography

The County is located in Eastern Oklahoma, is about 45 km from Arkansas and has an area of ​​1619 square kilometers, of which 125 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Muskogee County, Sequoyah County, Le Flore County, Latimer County, Pittsburg County and McIntosh County.

History

Haskell County was formed on 16 July 1907 as the original County of Choctaw country. It was named after Charles N. Haskell, the first governor of Oklahoma.
