Hassan Muhammad Makki

Hassan Muhammad Makki ( born December 22, 1933, al - Hudaydah, North Yemen Arabic حسن محمد مكي ) was a Yemeni politician and repeatedly Economic and Foreign Secretary and briefly in 1974, Prime Minister of the Yemen Arab Republic ( North Yemen ).

From a respected and wealthy family originating and training first to Egypt and then sent to Italy, Hassan Makki studied from 1953 to 1956 at the University of Rome and his doctorate in 1960 over economy at the University of Bologna. Back in Yemen, he was thereupon 1960-1962 Adviser at Ministry of Economic Affairs.

With the overthrow of the monarchy Makki was promoted to Deputy Minister of Economy of the young republic and to the director of the Yemen Bank for Reconstruction and Development in September 1962. In the cabinet Abdul Rahman al - Iriani he finally held 1963-1964 even the Ministry of Economy.
