Geography

Neighboring communities

Hasselroth borders in the north on the community Gruendau and the city of Gelnhausen, in the east on the community of pottage, in the south on the community of free court, on the southwest by the municipality of Rodenbach and in the west on the town of Langenselbold.

Community structure

The municipality comprises the towns of Gondsroth, Neuenhaßlau ( council offices ) and Niedermittlau. The three districts are geographically well separated.

History

The oldest written mention of Gondsroth and Niedermittlau dates from the year 1151st The area was inhabited much earlier, however.

Incorporations

On 1 October 1971, the places Neuenhaßlau and Gondsroth merged to form the new municipality Hasselroth. On 1 July 1974, the then existing community Niedermittlau was incorporated by law in this association.

The three hazelnuts of Hassel Rother coat of arms have the previous place name " Hasela " ( hazel ( nut ) ) out.

Sports

In Niedermittlau there is a football club (FC Alemannia Niedermittlau 1905 ) and a handball club which plays in the national league of women ( FSG Altenhaßlau / Niedermittlau ). In Neuenhaßlau there is a football club (FV Viktoria 06 Neuenhaßlau ), the second team was in the 2007/2008 season champion in the Kia circle League D Gelnhausen. There is also a gymnastics club (TG Neuenhaßlau ), which is active with some volleyball teams.

In Niedermittlau a local museum exists.
