Hasso Plattner Institute of Design

In Palo Alto, at Stanford University, has been around since October 3, 2005, the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design. At the date " d.school " said means scientists from different disciplines to develop user -friendly innovations. Institute is headed by David Kelley, founder of IDEO.

Founder Hasso Plattner equipped the institute with 35 million U.S. dollars. It is part of the School of Engineering at Stanford University in Silicon Valley. The Potsdam Hasso Plattner Institute for Software Systems Engineering with his HPI School of Design Thinking ( active since the winter semester 2007 /2008) maintains with its sister institute at Stanford particularly close cooperation.

Apart from the exchange of students and researchers there is a yearly workshop on Design Thinking in Germany. Likewise, German companies are involved in joint international development projects over the axle between Potsdam and Palo Alto. With the help of modern tele-teaching technique, the implementation of such projects on both sides of the Atlantic is facilitated. In addition, there is an exchange of teaching material and other materials.
