Hat Yai District
Amphoe Hat Yai (also Haad Yai, Thai: อำเภอ หาดใหญ่ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Songkhla. The Songkhla province is located in the southern region of Thailand.
Hat Yai is also the name of a major city ( thesaban Nakhon ) in the province of Songkhla.
Education
In Amphoe Hat Yai is the main campus of Prince of Songkla University.
Geography
Adjacent Amphoe are seen from the west: the Amphoe Khuan Kalong the province of Satun and Rattaphum Amphoe, Bang Klam, Khuan Niang, Singhanakhon, Mueang Songkhla, Na Mom, Chana, and Khlong Hoi Khong Sadao in Songkhla province.
In the northeastern part of the district lies the shore of Songkhla Lake.
Management
The circle is in 13 subdistricts (tambon ) divided, the further into 98 villages ( Muban ) are divided.
Hat Yai ( Thai: เทศบาล นคร หาดใหญ่ ) itself has a metropolitan status ( thesaban Nakhon ) and consists of the whole tambon Hat Yai.
There are still four cities ( Mueang thesaban ) in the district:
- Ban Phru ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง บ้าน พรุ ) consists of parts of tambon Ban Phru,
- Khlong Hae ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง คลอง แห ) consists of the whole Tambon Khlong Hae,
- Khuan Lang ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง ควน ลัง ) consists of the whole tambon Khuan Lang,
- Kho Hong ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง คอ หงส์ ) consists of the whole tambon Kho Hong.
There are also four small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:
- Ban Rai ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้านไร่ ), consisting of other parts of the tambon Ban Phru,
- Pha Tong ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล พะ ต ง ), it consists of parts of the tambon Phatong,
- Nam Noi ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล น้ำ น้อย ), consisting of the entire Tambon Nam Noi,
- Khu Tao ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล คู เต่า ), consisting of the whole tambon Khu Tao.
In addition, there are six " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations).
Note: the missing geocodes refer to the Tambon, from which today Amphoe Bang Klam and Khlong Hoi Khong exist.
