Hatnub

Hatnub (Egyptian Hw.t - nbw House of Gold ) is the name of ancient alabaster quarries in the Eastern Desert south-east of Tell el -Amarna and about 65 km southeast of the modern city of al - Minya.

History

Hieroglyphic inscriptions and graffiti show that the quarries of the reign of Khufu ( 4th Dynasty ) were to the Roman period in operation.
