Hauke Jagau
Hauke Jagau (* 1961 in Hanover) is a German politician (SPD) and Regional President of the Hanover region.
Life
Jagau studied at the Leibniz University of Hannover Law and was a member of hanOMacke eV ( student café, which is run by students for students and can be found today on the Conti Campus Hanover. ) Qualified lawyer, was from 1989 to 1990 research assistant at the SPD parliamentary group Lower Saxony. From 1990 to 1994 he worked as Head of Public Relations in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Justice from 1994 to 1996 as a consultant in the field of broadcasting media and constitutional law in the Lower Saxony State under Gerhard Schröder. From 1996 to 2006 Jagau was a full-time mayor of the city of Laatzen near Hanover. Since 2006 he has been President of the Region of Hannover Region.
Hauke Jagau is member of the SPD - FDP Executive, which he was Deputy Chairman until June 2008. He is also a member of the executive board of the SPD district of Hanover.
He is a member of the DLRG, for which he was active at different levels. He was a member of the State Executive Committee of the DLRG youth in Lower Saxony, but was also technical director of DLRG Seelze and as a rescue diver and director of operations active. Jagau is married and lives with his wife and two sons in Laatzen.

On January 25, 2014, the meeting of representatives of the SPD sub- district Hannover region elected him with 94 percent of the vote officially a candidate for the office of the Region President. The election will take place on 25 May 2014.
