Haunetal

Haunetal is a community in Hersfeld-Rotenburg district in eastern Hesse, Germany. Haunetal is the southernmost municipality of the district.

Geography

Geographical location

Haunetal located in the front Rhön, between Bad Hersfeld, about 13 km, and Hünfeld, about 14 km away. The municipality extends on both sides of the lower reaches of the Haune. It is dominated by the 524 meter high mountain stubble. It lies between the foothills of the crumpled mountains, Rhön and Vogelsberg

Neighboring communities

Haunetal bordered to the northwest by the municipality of Lower Hall, in the north- east on the community Hauneck (both in Hersfeld-Rotenburg district ) in the east on the community of pus field, in the south on the community Burghaun (both in the district Fulda ) and in the west on the town slot ( in Vogelsberg ).

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Hermann mirror, wood home, Kruspis, Mauer, Meis Bach, Müsenbach, Neukirchen, Colonel Oppel, under stubble, Odensachsen, Rhina, Schletzenrod, Stärklos, Wehrda and Wetzlos.

History

The districts Odensachsen and Rhina were first mentioned in records in 1003, when Emperor Henry II the Imperial Forest Forest Ehring ( Ehrenvirst ) between the abbeys Hersfeld and Fulda aufteilte.

Some of today's districts belonged together since the Middle Ages in the reign Wehrda and later in the Official Neukirchen. The places were mostly the abbeys Hersfeld or Fulda, they (later Trümbach ) of Otensassen and Haune (later Hune ) had awarded as fief to the Knights of Romrod, of Trubenbach. The latter were the builders of the castle Hauneck.

1886, the author Heinrich Ruppel was born in Haunetal. In a barn in the village of Neukirchen near the end of World War II Konrad Zuse's Z4 computer was parked.

Konrad Zuse founded in 1949 in the village of Neukirchen the Zuse KG; In 1957, the company moved to Bad Hersfeld.

Since May 16, 1998, the municipality may use the designation Haunetal market town.

Incorporations

On February 1, 1971, the previously independent municipalities Hermann mirror, Mauer, Neukirchen, Colonel Oppel and Rhina were merged to form the new municipality in the district of Haunetal Hünfeld. On December 31, 1971 Meis Bach, Müsenbach, Odensachsen, Schletzenrod, Wehrda and Wetzlos came (all in the district Hünfeld ) added. Under stubble ( county Hünfeld ) and the date the district Hersfeld belonging places came on 1 August 1972 in the new Hersfeld-Rotenburg district changing community added.

Mayor

Mayor Stefan Euler ( CDU ) was elected on September 4, 2011, with a vote share of 53.6 %. He won against a rival candidate of the SPD. The turnout was 70.4 %.

Culture and sights

Structures

The evangelical church in Neukirchen is built in the late Gothic style in 1515 to partially Romanesque substructure. For the remarkable interiors include the carved winged altar from 1522 and the baptismal font from the year 1588th

Above Neukirchen and Colonel Oppel on the stubble mountain, the mountain of Haunetal, the castle is situated Hauneck whose architectural history dates back to the 14th century. Even further into the past, the Sinzigburg, west of the mountain in the stubble Haunetal. Not far away, also on the slopes of stubble mountain is the natural monument Lange stones.

Other buildings in the district Wehrda are the fortified Gothic church with old peasant frescoes, the High Wehrda Castle ( built in 1900 by Prince of clothing Dorff, now a Hermann- Lietz - Internat ), the Yellow Wehrda Castle, the Red Castle in Wehrda ( now owned by John Freiherr von Campenhausen ) and the ruins Altwehrda ( probably the first fortified settlement in a fortified tower, built by the knights of the von Trumbach, and later those of stone).

Jewish Cemetery

At the district Rhina is the 3,896 m² large Jewish cemetery of Haunetal. The cemetery is a protected cultural monument and is located approximately 1 km south of the railway line between Rhina Bebra - Fulda and State Road 27 in the Valley of Haune. Another Jewish cemetery located in the district Wehrda.

Economy and infrastructure

Traffic

At the national road network, the community is connected by State Road 27, which runs through the town. Furthermore, the municipality has a railway station in Neukirchen, on the railway line Bebra - Fulda.

The public transport is guaranteed by the Nordhessischer Transport Association.

The bus routes are operated by the Regional Transportation Kurhessentherme. The bus lines produce mainly associated with Bad Hersfeld.

Education

In Neukirchen there is the Haunetal - school, a primary school. Furthermore, there are in the district Wehrda the Hermann Lietz - Schule Schloss Hohen - Wehrda and Rhina a branch of the community college.
