Haupiri

Haupiri is a place in the West Coast region on the South Island of New Zealand. It is located about 50 km east of Greymouth. The rivers Ahaura and Haupiri River are nearby.

The population of the district statistical Haupiri who has a much larger area than the town, was the Census 2006 378 permanent residents, an increase of 48 since 2001.

The place is located isolated and can only be reached via a single road over Kopara.

Education

The Gloriavale Christian Community School is a Christian private Composite School for the school years 1-15 with 127 students. The school moved in 1990 to the West Coast. The school is operated by the New Zealand Christian sect of Cooperiten.
