Hausten
Hausten is a municipality in the district of Mayen -Koblenz in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Vordereifel, which has its administrative headquarters in Mayen.

Geographical location
Hausten is located in a side valley of the Nette on the northern border of the district of Mayen -Koblenz south of the B 412 in the High Eifel region, east of the Nürburgring and west of the Laacher lake. About one-third of the district forest (about 126 acres ).
To Hausten also includes the hamlet of Morswiesen.
History
Hausten is first mentioned in 1425, when Reinhard Snitz Kempenich had half the tithes to Huysteden fief. Morswiesen is occupied as Morshusin 1376 and 1404 as Moirswesen.

Parish council
The local council in Hausten consists of eight council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Hausten owns in the district Morswiesen a recently renovated chapel (St. Anna ) and belongs to the parish of St. Barbara in women.
Education
Our own primary school, there are no longer in Hausten. The children attend school in women in the neighboring district of Ahrweiler.
Clubs
In the small Eifel community a fairly active social life takes place.
