Haut-Clocher
Skin Clocher ( German jitter village) is a commune with 336 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Sarrebourg and Canton Sarrebourg.
Geography
Skin Clocher is about five kilometers northwest of Sarrebourg at an altitude 245-315 m above sea level. The municipality covers 11.44 km ².
The municipality of Haut-Clocher includes the hamlets and farms
- Saint -Ulrich ( Ortisei),
- Sarrelfing ( Saarelfing ) and
- Foudenhoff ( Fudenhof ).
History
The village was German until 1661, then came to France, in 1871 and again in 1919 German French again. In the period 1939-1945 it was under the German administration again and then again the French. In the district of Saint -Ulrich, there are the remains of a vast Gallo- Roman settlement.
