Haute Randonnée Pyrénéenne

The Haute randonnée pyrénéenne (HRP ) or haute route pyrénéenne is a long distance footpath in the Pyrenees.

The HRP runs as close as possible to the main ridge of the Pyrenees and thus mostly between the French GR 10 and GR 11, the Spanish HRP therefore moves over long distances in open alpine terrain. It is not marked by continuous, but only described in leaders and marked on maps. The exact form, so Route, division into daily stages, selection of campsites, intermediate descents for provisioning allows the walkers through a lot of room for self- organization and improvisation.
