Hava Nagila

Hava Nagila ( הבה נגילה ) is a Hebrew folk song. The melody was originally a wordless Hasidic Niggun and was edited by Abraham Zvi Idelsohn (1882-1938), probably on the occasion of the British occupation of Palestine in the First World War and with words. The title means " Let us be happy." It is a song of celebration, very popular in Judaism and in Roma communities. In pop culture, it is used as a metonym for Judaism.
